Branding brief - Create a brand for a major new touring Art gallery.
This seems pretty perfect for me in terms of areas of interest. It has the brand and range element and covers the subject of Art. I think this could be quite interesting.
The 'What else do you do?' brief is also intriguing.
Brief
We want to see the original work created to your own brief, proving you have a creative mind par excellence, or responses to the briefs that take them in very different directions. Either way, your work should be telling us something about what else you do. We want to also see work that proves you can push harder, or even step outside of the boundaries that D&AD and your tutors set and flex your creative muscles in spectacular ways.
Mandatory Requirements
- Your entry must be either completely original and self initiated, or a response to one of the challenges set in the D&AD Student Awards 2011 that takes it in a surprising and exciting direction. This is your opportunity to work outside the parameters of your education.
- If necessary include a 150-word outline of your idea to make sure the judges understand your aims and the problem you are solving.
- If your idea is based around a brand which is not one of the D&AD Student Awards 2011 sponsors it will still be judged but you may be asked to re-supply the artwork with no evident branding for publication on our website, especially if you do not have the necessary permissions.
- If you use one of the sponsors of this year’s awards your work must not be responding to their brief already set as part of the Student Awards. Each jury has the right to move entries into What Else Do You Do? if in their opinion the work has become substantially ‘off brief’, but there is merit in the craft or idea.
This would mean I could complete one of my self-initiated briefs and send it in as part of the competition. Just something to consider.
