1. Cafe branding brief - 'Pica'
Brief is to produce branding for a typographical themed cafe. It's a small cafe, kind of like the opposite, smoothie company etc.
What do you think to the name? I narrowed it down to 3 possibilities, 10pt, Italic & Pica. At the moment I'm thinking pica is the most catchy. I wanted a link to typography but also wanted it to appeal to non-designers. The typographic theme will exploited further inside on wall graphics and menus etc.
Any thoughts on colour? Do you think the warm colours work best, or should I go for something cooler? The colour printed has come out really red on the laser printer, it's actually a burnt orange (see blog posts)
2. Photography yearbook
I've printed a few spreads out, but a full mock up is on my blog.
Any general feedback on layouts? Particularly looking at the photography.
3. Creative CV
A newspaper that gives a preview of my work to send out to potential employers.
(Its not fully printed, there's a few pages missing in the middle. It's just a mock up.)
Any thoughts on stock? I have experimented with both bulky and thin newsprint, the bulky didn't print out well but I like the thickness and whiter colour of the stock.
Do you think the images are keeping enough detail?
Do you think I should continue with the newspaper format, or make it into more of a book?
4. The Art Ward
Branding for a touring art gallery based in hospitals
I'd really like to expand this brief further, but am unsure of what I could produce, any ideas?
